Arlington, TX – Fatal Wreck on I-20 Near Matlock Rd Involves Pickup and Mustang

Arlington, TX (February 12, 2025) – A tragic crash on the night of February 11 resulted in the death of a woman and left another driver injured on the westbound lanes of I-20 near Matlock Road.

According to Arlington Police, officers responded to the scene around 11:33 p.m. and found a woman unresponsive in the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators identified her as the driver of a 2006 Ford Mustang, which had reportedly stalled and was blocking two lanes of traffic.

Witnesses stated that the woman had exited her vehicle and was standing in the roadway when a 2024 Toyota Tundra struck both her and the Mustang. The driver of the Tundra sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police believe that due to the nighttime conditions and the Mustang’s position, the Tundra driver was unable to see the vehicle in time to avoid the collision.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
