Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-20 E/Thornton Rd. Injures Three

Atlanta, GA (September 4, 2025) – Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on the morning of Wednesday, September 3, along I-20 eastbound near Thornton Road, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The accident happened around 8:09 a.m. involving a Volkswagen Jetta and a Toyota Camry in heavy traffic. Moments later, a Jeep Renegade collided with the Jetta, pushing both vehicles forward into a tractor-trailer. The impact set off a chain reaction that forced the first tractor-trailer into another big rig ahead of it.

Troopers and first responders rushed to the scene, attended to the victims, and cleared the wreckage. Two of the injured were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment, while a third victim was taken to Wellstar Cobb Medical Center. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the pile-up.
