Columbia, SC – Pedestrian Struck and Killed on I-20  near the Two Notch Rd

Columbia, SC (February 14, 2025) – A tragic accident occurred on Interstate 20 West near the Two Notch Road exit on February 14, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. The incident occurred around 11:50 a.m. when a deputy from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the individual exited their vehicle and attempted to run across the interstate.

Tragically, they were struck by a 2022 Ford F-150 truck traveling in the eastbound lanes. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash to determine the exact sequence of events.
