DeKalb, GA – Two Truck Collision on I-20 WB/Wesley Chapel Rd, Injuries Reported
DeKalb, GA (September 4, 2024) – On the morning of September 4th, a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a dump truck on I-20 westbound before Wesley Chapel Road led to a significant fuel spill and left at least one person injured. The accident caused all westbound traffic to come to a standstill as authorities worked to contain the fuel leak from the ruptured saddle tanks. DeKalb County Fire and Rescue teams responded to the scene, treating those injured on-site. Fortunately, none of the injuries were life-threatening. Crews also worked to contain the fuel spill and ensure that it did not pose further hazards to drivers. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol. Drivers were advised to find alternate routes while authorities worked to restore traffic flow.
