Douglasville, GA – Wrong-Way Car Crash on I-20 Near Lee Rd, Injuries Reported

Douglasville, GA (November 16, 2024) – A wrong-way driver caused a serious crash on I-20 Westbound near Lee Road (Exit 41) on Saturday morning, November 16. According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the collision resulted in multiple injuries and extensive traffic delays. Initial reports indicate that a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes collided with at least two other cars near the busy interchange. Emergency personnel, including paramedics and law enforcement officers, rushed to the scene to assess and assist the injured. Several victims were taken to WellStar Douglas Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Their conditions have not been disclosed. The westbound lanes were closed for several hours as investigators worked to determine the circumstances leading to the crash. Authorities are also investigating whether alcohol or other impairing substances were involved.
