Fort Worth, TX – Fatal Pickup and SUV Crash on I-20 Leaves Two Dead

Fort Worth, TX (December 23, 2025) – A devastating multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 in southwest Fort Worth claimed two lives and left another person critically injured early Tuesday morning, December 23. According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the collision occurred shortly after 2:20 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-20 near the Granbury Road exit. Responding officials reported that a pickup truck and an SUV were involved in the crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered one passenger who had been ejected from a vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene due to severe injuries. Both drivers were found trapped inside their vehicles following the impact. Fire crews worked to extricate the occupants while police secured the area.

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was freed from the wreckage and transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims. Portions of I-20 were temporarily closed as Fort Worth traffic detectives documented the scene and began an investigation into the cause of the crash.
