Fulton County, GA – Two Fatalities in Head-On Collision on I-20 East Hamilton E. Holmes Exit, Victims Identified

Fulton County, GA (July 4, 2023) – The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office released the identities of the two individuals who tragically lost their lives Sunday morning, July 2, in a collision on I-20 East in Atlanta.

Emergency responders were called to the scene near the Hamilton E. Holmes exit around 2:05 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a Nissan Sentra and a Hyundai Sonata.

The victims were identified as 33-year-old Cyrus Williams and 32-year-old Denise Watkins.

According to the Accident Investigations Unit, the Nissan Sentra was traveling at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction on the I-20 Eastbound Expressway when it collided head-on with the white Hyundai Sonata.
