Grovetown, GA – Injuries Reported in I-20 Accident near MM 189

Grovetown, GA (March 6, 2023) – Injuries were reported as a result of a car crash that took place in the Grovetown area on Sunday.  On March 5, the Georgia Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene of an automobile accident that took place on Interstate 20.

Preliminary reports show that a collision took place on the westbound side of the interstate. The accident occurred near mile marker 189, and one of the vehicles overturned due to the crash.

At least one person suffered injuries in the accident and had to be transported to a local hospital.

The Georgia Department of Transportation reported traffic delays in the area that extended back approximately 6 miles. The accident prompted the closure of the roadway from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. as emergency crews worked to clear the road and investigate.

Investigations into the accident are underway.
