Heflin, AL – Fatal Collision on I-20 Claims the Life of Muscadine Woman

Heflin, AL (November 4, 2024) – A tragic two-vehicle collision on I-20 claimed the life of 28-year-old Hailey B. Mayfield from Muscadine on the evening of November 2. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) reported that the crash occurred at around 7:15 p.m. when Mayfield’s 2018 Toyota 4Runner collided with a 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by 39-year-old Adlet Uzbekov of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The accident took place within Heflin city limits. ALEA officials confirmed that Mayfield was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and she was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of her injuries. Uzbekov, the driver of the tractor-trailer, was not reported injured. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division have launched an investigation to determine what may have led to this tragic incident.
