Heflin, AL – Multiple Injuries Reported in I-20 WB Crash at Exit 199

Heflin, AL (May 4, 2025) – On the afternoon of May 4, a multi-vehicle crash caused serious injuries along the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 near Exit 199 at AL-9/Almon Street in Heflin. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred just before mile marker 197.35 and involved at least two vehicles. The impact caused a significant backup as emergency crews worked to assist the injured and clear the scene. First responders assessed the victims at the scene, with at least one person transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT).
