Lexington County, SC – Fatal Head-On Collision Claims Life of Brian Francis Vyhnal on I-20 Near MM 53

Lexington County, SC (August 20, 2023) – A tragic accident occurred on Sunday, August 20th, as Brian Francis Vyhnal, 55, from Hephzibah, Georgia, lost his life in a head-on collision on I-20 in Lexington County, South Carolina.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the incident occurred at around 2:00 a.m. when Vyhnal was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-20. His vehicle collided head-on with a 2021 Chevrolet SUV close to the 53-mile marker. This catastrophic collision resulted in Vyhnal’s unfortunate demise due to the severity of his injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, confirmed the victim’s identity and revealed that Vyhnal was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The SUV involved in the collision was carrying three adults and one minor. They sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.

The SCHP and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are currently conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to this devastating accident.
