Lexington, SC – Multiple Injuries in Crash on I-20 at Exit Ramp

Lexington, SC (July 13, 2024) – On July 12, a severe crash occurred on I-20 in Lexington involving multiple vehicles and resulting in numerous injuries. According to Lexington Police, the incident happened when a driver navigating the exit ramp drove over the raised turn divider, crossing inbound lanes, and colliding with several vehicles in the outbound lanes. Emergency responders from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department quickly arrived to assist the injured parties. Several individuals sustained injuries and were promptly transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. The scene was chaotic, with debris scattered across the highway and traffic brought to a standstill. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash, including whether speed or impairment played a role.
