Pearl, MS – Police Officer Injured in Accident on I-20 E/MM 50
Pearl, MS (November 14, 2024) – A Pearl police officer sustained injuries in a collision while working to clear a prior accident on Interstate 20 East, near mile marker 50, on Wednesday night, November 13. According to Pearl Police Chief Nick McLendon, the officer was stationed inside his patrol car with blue lights activated, awaiting a tow truck, when another vehicle struck the patrol car. The crash resulted in both the officer and the driver of the vehicle being transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Fortunately, both individuals appear to have sustained only non-life-threatening injuries. Their identities have not been released, and the specifics of the crash remain under investigation by the Pearl Police Department.
