Rankin Co., MS – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-20 WB near US 80 Leaves Several Hurt

Rankin County, MS (December 2, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 20 westbound just past the US 80/East Brandon Exit 59 left several people injured on Tuesday, December 2. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, multiple vehicles collided in a chain-reaction impact that blocked at least one lane.

Troopers reported that several occupants suffered injuries, with some assessed at the scene while others were transported to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation. Witnesses stated that traffic had slowed moments before the crash, though investigators have not yet determined what triggered the initial impact.

Patrol officers documented the scene, interviewed drivers and bystanders, and inspected the damaged vehicles to help clarify what led to the collision. Crews worked for more than an hour to safely remove debris and restore the flow of traffic.
