Shreveport, LA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck on I-20 at MM 8

Shreveport, LA (March 2, 2025) – A tragic accident on Interstate 20 early Saturday morning, March 1, resulted in the death of a local man after he was struck by an 18-wheeler. According to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. near Bert Kouns Industrial Loop in west Shreveport. The victim, identified as 31-year-old Darryl Ray Ware II, was reportedly standing near the shoulder around mile marker 8 before stepping into the eastbound lanes.

Authorities confirmed that Ware suffered multiple blunt-force injuries upon impact. First responders from the Shreveport Police Department and emergency medical services arrived promptly, but Ware was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was later confirmed through fingerprint comparison. No additional injuries were reported, and authorities have not yet disclosed whether any charges will be filed against the truck driver.
