Aiken County, SC (June 14, 2025) – A serious crash involving a fuel tanker and another vehicle on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 in Aiken County left two people injured early Saturday morning, June 14. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 4:00 a.m. near mile marker 13. The collision involved an 18-wheeler fuel truck and a second passenger vehicle. Moments after the impact, the tanker caught fire, prompting a rapid response from multiple emergency departments, including local fire crews and state troopers. The blaze was intense, with thick smoke visible from surrounding areas, forcing officials to shut down the eastbound lanes temporarily.
