DeKalb Co., GA – Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-20 E/Panola Rd.

DeKalb County, GA (October 21, 2025) – A fatal multi-vehicle collision on Tuesday, October 21, claimed the life of a woman in her 30s on Interstate 20 eastbound near Panola Road. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the crash occurred around 3:10 a.m. when the woman’s sedan struck the rear of a tractor-trailer that had stopped due to nearby construction work. Following the initial impact, her vehicle came to rest in the center lane, where it was hit by another oncoming car.

DeKalb County police confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead at the scene despite an immediate emergency response. All lanes on I-20 eastbound were closed for nearly two and a half hours as investigators documented the scene. The identities of those involved have not yet been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
