Howard Co., TX – One Killed, Another Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-20/MM 176

Howard County, TX (October 26, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 near mile marker 176 claimed one life and left another person injured on Saturday, October 25. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 33-year-old Jose Christian Jasso of Snyder was standing outside his parked 2019 Ford F-250 on the improved shoulder, closing a trailer door, when a westbound 1999 Chevrolet Silverado struck him around 8:40 a.m. The Silverado, driven by 24-year-old Alejandro Hernandez of Laredo, then collided with the parked vehicle before rolling over.

Sadly, Jasso was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers inside the Ford were unharmed, while Hernandez sustained minor injuries and was taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring. Troopers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Jasso’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
