Meridian, MS (September 20, 2025) – A woman from Laurel was killed on Sunday afternoon, September 21, in a head-on crash involving an 18-wheeler on I-20 eastbound. Meridian police confirmed that 42-year-old Audrey Moore died after her vehicle was struck near the 150-mile marker at around 4:30 p.m. I
nvestigators reported that the 18-wheeler, which was traveling westbound, crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with Moore’s vehicle. The impact left both vehicles heavily damaged, and traffic was shut down for several hours as crews worked the scene. F
irst responders provided emergency aid, but Moore succumbed to her injuries. The truck driver’s condition has not yet been released. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, including whether fatigue or a medical episode contributed to the truck veering out of its lane.
