Atlanta, GA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-20 at Turner Hill Rd

Atlanta, GA (September 14, 2025) – One person lost their life in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 in DeKalb County on Friday afternoon, September 12. The accident occurred in the eastbound lanes near Turner Hill Road and was confirmed by the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Georgia State Patrol reported that several vehicles were involved in the collision, leaving at least one car with severe damage.

Despite life-saving efforts, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Other individuals were assessed for injuries, and at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital for additional medical care. Traffic on I-20 eastbound was heavily impacted, with lanes closed for several hours as investigators documented the crash site and crews removed damaged vehicles.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of the family.
