Ector Co., TX – Fiery Semi-Truck Crash on I-20 E Near MM 89–91
Ector County, TX (September 13, 2025) – A major crash involving multiple semi-trucks shut down eastbound Interstate 20 near the Ector County line on Saturday, September 13.
The fiery collision occurred between mile markers 89 and 91, east of Monahans and on the way to Odessa. Witnesses reported that sand trucks and fuel haulers were among the vehicles involved. The crash caused significant traffic backups, and drivers were diverted to alternate routes near the Sandhills exit and Penwell.
Authorities have not confirmed the number of people injured or the extent of their injuries. Emergency crews worked to control the fire and secure the scene. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
