Gregg Co., TX – One Killed in Four-Vehicle Crash on I-20 WB
Gregg County, TX (October 17, 2025) – A tragic four-vehicle collision on Interstate 20 westbound claimed one life early Wednesday morning, october 15, in Gregg County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Authorities said the crash occurred when a box van collided with the rear of a truck tractor-semi trailer travelling in the same direction. The initial impact left the box van disabled in the roadway, where it was then struck by another truck tractor-semi trailer. The force of the second collision pushed the box van into the path of a school bus, which sustained damage to its left side.
The driver of the box van, identified as 42-year-old Zuo Mac Kpopba of Euless, was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported among the occupants of the different vehicles, including those aboard the school bus.
Troopers and emergency responders worked for several hours to investigate and clear the scene. Traffic on I-20 was temporarily halted during the response.
The Texas DPS continues to investigate the crash to determine contributing factors such as speed, visibility, and possible mechanical failure.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr Kpopba during this difficult time.
