Jackson, MS – Passenger Ejected in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-20/Gallatin St.
Jackson, MS (October 12, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle collision on Interstate 20 left multiple people injured late Thursday night, October 9, near the Gallatin Street area. According to the Jackson Police Department, a Mercury Marquis was heading westbound on I-20 when it struck an object in the roadway. The impact caused the driver to lose control and crash into a roadside railing, which forced the vehicle to spin back toward oncoming traffic. Moments later, a Chevrolet Impala traveling in the same direction collided with the disabled Mercury.
During the crash, a passenger in the Mercury Marquis was ejected from the vehicle. First responders rushed to the scene and transported the ejected passenger to a nearby hospital. Their current condition has not been made public. Officers noted that the driver of the Mercury suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received medical attention.
Two occupants in the Chevrolet Impala sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were evaluated by paramedics at the scene. Traffic slowed significantly as police and cleanup crews worked to clear debris and document the accident. Investigators are examining roadway conditions, vehicle speed, and whether the object that struck the road played a significant role in the crash.
