Lindale, TX – 1 Injured in Major, Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-20 EB
Lindale, TX (October 11, 2025) – A serious five-vehicle crash involving three 18-wheelers and two passenger cars caused major delays on Interstate 20 eastbound on October 9, leaving one person injured and trapped in their vehicle.
The Lindale Fire Department responded to the scene near mile marker 551, where crews found multiple vehicles heavily damaged. Firefighters worked swiftly to extricate one trapped individual, who was then transferred to EMS for medical treatment. The person’s condition has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities confirmed that Lonestar Hazmat handled roadway cleanup operations due to debris and potential fluid spills, while Isaac’s and Liberty Towing managed vehicle removal. The Smith County Emergency Coordinator, Brandon Moore, assisted with coordinating resources, and Smith County ESD 2 provided backup coverage for Lindale Fire during the response.
By 5:40 p.m., TxDOT cameras confirmed that all lanes were reopened and traffic was moving normally. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
