Abilene, TX – Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on I-20/FM 608 Leaves One Dead

Abilene, TX (November 27, 2025) – A deadly three-vehicle collision on I-20 in Nolan County claimed the life of 33-year-old Christopher Cardoza of Roscoe on Wednesday evening, November 26. The crash occurred just before 5:30 p.m. near FM 608, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Investigators say Cardoza was traveling south on FM 608 when he attempted a left turn onto the I-20 service road and collided with a vehicle turning right onto the same roadway. Once on the interstate, his vehicle struck a third vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and enter a nearby parking lot.

Troopers pronounced Cardoza dead at the scene despite an immediate on-site assessment. The drivers of the other vehicles were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover. Texas DPS investigators remained at the scene for several hours documenting debris patterns and interviewing witnesses. Officials have not released additional details, and the investigation is ongoing.
