Clinton, MS – Vicksburg Woman Killed in Fatal I-20 Crash Involving 18-Wheeler

Clinton, MS (July 3, 2025) – A tragic crash early Wednesday morning, July 2, claimed the life of a Vicksburg woman on westbound I-20 near the Springridge Road exit in Clinton. According to Interim Coroner Jeramiah Howard, 53-year-old Tatyana Zavalova was driving westbound when her vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler around 2:30 a.m. Zavalova was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe driver fatigue may have played a role in the crash. A toxicology report has been ordered as part of the ongoing investigation. Zavalova was reportedly returning home from a trip to Florida at the time of the accident. Her vehicle sustained severe damage, and the crash forced the closure of westbound lanes for several hours. Traffic delays stretched from the Highway 18 and Robinson Road exits in Jackson to the Springridge Road exit. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. No other injuries were reported.
