Columbia, SC – Accident with Injuries Reported on I-20 near Exit 44

Columbia, SC (March 6, 2023) – Just after 1:00 p.m. on March 5, emergency crews were called to the scene of a car crash that took place in Columbia, South Carolina, that left at least one person with injuries.

According to reports from the South Carolina Department of Transportation, a vehicle collision took place on the westbound side of Interstate 20. The incident caused severe delays near exit 44.

Authorities responded and closed off multiple lanes of the road as they worked to clear the scene.

Medics were called to care for the injured victims before transporting them to area hospitals.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
